Meet Our CCYD Member of the Month

MONICA HAYNES

What five adjectives describe you best? Quiet, Thoughtful, Kind, Loyal and Independent

Tell me about yourself? I have lived in many places throughout my adult life; but, I currently reside in Fayetteville, North Carolina and have lived in this area for 10 years. I work for a local non-profit and participate with and have served on various community boards and committees. I love to travel, write and spend time with family and friends. I like to consider myself a resource for my friends by providing information and guidance to help them achieve their goals.

Tell me about the one thing in your life you’re proudest of! I am proud of my growth. I often reflect on where I was 15 years ago and where I am now. Through the experience we call ‘life’, I continue to grow toward becoming a better person each day.

What are you most passionate about in the Democratic Party? With the democratic party, I’m excited about the idea of bringing communities together to work toward a shared vision.

Why are you a CCYD Member?
I am a CCYD member to play a positive and supportive role in reaching the shared vision.

What do you want to see happen in CCYD this year? I would like to see membership grow and the development of a chapter on FSU.

What kinds of work interest you the most? Working with children and families as well as working with military communities interest me the most.

What are your goals in life? My current goal is to complete my 2nd Masters degree. Next, I will work on getting licensed in that field and then begin a Doctoral program.
